Yucatan Peninsula Real Estate Hot Spots

This MRE Group is managed and administrated by Carolan Harris

Yucatan Peninsula is one of the most famous regions of Mexico because of the Mayan culture, Cancun and Playa del Carmen, but what else does the world knows about this magical place?

This peninsula nests 3 states of the Mexican Federation, Campeche facing the Gulf of Mexico, Yucatan facing the Atlantic Ocean and Quintana Roo facing the Caribbean, yes! 3 different states, and 3 different waterfronts!

Main cities for real estate in these states are: Campeche coast in the beautiful Campeche State, Merida in Yucatan State and Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen and now Tulum in Quintana Roo States.

Each one of these places has its own personal identity, for any kind of life style: Stylish, Americanized, Typical Mexican, European touch, National Geographic spirit, archeological, spiritual, esoteric, Jack Cousteau's kind, gourmet, hedonistic, you name it.

What is what each place has to offer to everyone? , How is the real estate market behaving and what is the situation in each place?, What is the market offering? , How you can buy or invest? , How to retire or move to Paradise? , that is what this group is about.

Join and feel free to open discussions about anything related with Yucatan Peninsula MRE group, make questions, post comments, show and share with us.

In 2010 over 20% of ALL TRAVELERS TO MEXICO were Canadian with an 8% increase in total visits over 2009. There were 1.6 million trips from Canada to Mexico in 2009. In short, Canada loves Mexico.

In the Puerto Vallarta area Canadians make up 35% of all real estate purchases. In Los Cabos this percentage is much higher at nearly 60% and in Lake Chapala there are rumors that there are 10's of thousands of Canadians living a utopian lifestyle.

Canadians are retiring to Mexico and buying real estate more than any other nationality in the world.

What are you doing to put your business in front of the powerful Canadian consumer?

The #1 vacation destination for Canadians is MEXICO
. While we technically do more day trips to the United States this is mainly for cheap gas and cheap cheese - Canadians appreciate a deal! For extended trips Canadians flock to Mexico with tourists traveling to Mexico increasing 100% from 2006 to 2010. Like I said, we appreciate a deal and Mexico is a great buy with our strong dollar.

Our dollar remains strong. We are NOT in a recession. We have some of the highest priced real estate IN THE WORLD. We have considerable credit and the Canadian banks are aware of our purchasing power. They are rolling out new marketing programs that encourage Boomers to downsize their homes and take out the equity to purchase MORE REAL ESTATE. Getting financing for a 2nd home in Mexico has never been easier for Canadians. This is the first year of the coveted baby boomer generation retiring and we will see this market at your doors shortly.

With a population of only 33 million, Canada is a concentrated market that can be accessed for considerably less marketing dollars than the American visitor. Canadians are higher educated, have more personal income and love to golf!(nearly 80 million tee times last year in a country covered by snow for 6-8 months of the year...) We also have a much higher percentage of passport holders and are more well-travelled than our American neighbours.

Approached properly and professionally, you will find more success with today's Canadian consumers than American. But the approach is different. Canadians want truth and professionalism. They want open and transparent transactions. They do not like the timeshare slick sales pitch. They are reserved and want to make decisions without pressure. An open and honest approach will bring youthe business you need .

Don't bother your buyers when they are on vacation. Connect with them in their homes before they leave on vacation. They are coming to Mexico to relax and get away from the pressure they already face in their lives - adding more pressure - especially during a vacation will not win you more friends (or sales).

It takes on average 6 trips/sales calls to generate a sale. At Mexi-Go! we offer you an opportunity to put your business in front of Canadians six or more times before they even arrive in Mexico. This helps to generate warm leads that are prepared to buy.  We are the ONLY company in Canada that specifically markets Mexico to Canadians. We are the ONLY marketing company in Canada that publishes a quarterly magazine that promotes Mexico and all its benefits to Canadians and we are the ONLY real estate listing website that specifically address the Canadian questions for moving to Mexico, buying real estate in Mexico and other issues relevant to Canadians.

So we ask you again, what are you doing to put your message in front of your best market?

Call us today for more information.

I have a client who will be celebrating her boyfriend's 50th birthday in Playa (or maybe Cozumel) in early October. I am looking for rental properties suitable for 8 couples, walking distance of 5th Ave/Coco beach, preferably in a small resort with 4 or 5 little casitas/villas, a large main house and a pool.  Please send info to along with the rates and referral fee to be paid. Thank you.
